As I mentioned in a previous post, I am excited to launch a new series for the summer. As a former guest (and winner) of CBS’s Big Brother, I thought it would be fun to share my thoughts on this year’s edition of the show. More specifically, we will look at many of the topics we’ve been reviewing in the Book Notes series, including strategy, persuasion, and more. For a primer on the show, check out CBS’s website. Essentially, over a dozen contestants compete to vote fellow guests out of the house with the goal to be the last person standing. I intend to watch the eviction shows and post my thoughts shortly thereafter. Note: this series will be based solely on the TV episodes (I will not be tracking the related “Live Feeds”).
Thoughts:
- From a first impression, Ameerah seems competitive and comes across as pretty intelligent – a great mix to go far.
- Paloma’s sales background and experience in getting people to trust her is certainly an asset (people tend to buy/align with people they trust).
- Another possible contender is Monte. He says he has both “brawn and brains” and he won his competition. He seems like he could be a fairly likeable personality as well, which, of course, is great for building relationships.
- While it may seem like a minor detail, Kyle showed his competitiveness in the first HOH competition when trying to gain any advantage he could by having his hands near the buzzer.
- The “Backstage Boss” power put Pooch in a challenging position, but I thought he handled it about as diplomatically as possible.
