Big Brother Thoughts is a weekly look at CBS’s “Big Brother” gameplay covering many of the topics we’ve been reviewing including strategy, persuasion, and more. Note: these thoughts will be based on the TV episodes, predominately from the eviction night show (not the “Live Feeds”).
Thoughts:
- It almost seemed like the HOH was a must-win for Monte, Joseph, and Terrance after they formed what could be perceived as a strong group (and likely targeted otherwise).
- Situational awareness was an issue once again when The Leftovers minus Kyle were hanging out in the HOH room. However, it obviously all worked out.
- Joseph does seem to be, as Julie says, the “mastermind” behind The Leftovers. He was the one who anticipated that the other side of the house would catch on if there was another blindside. He also came up with the solution (getting one of the girls on board and letting her convince the others).
- I would have liked to have seen Nicole sidestep Monte’s questioning when he essentially asked her what she would do if she became the next HOH. It is almost always better to not drop names of future targets as that information can quickly spread and put a target on your back.
- It was notable that Alyssa told Jasmine that she thought Monte was playing her. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Alyssa would have been a little more adamant.
- In the end, Nicole and Daniel just overthought it and were maybe a little overconfident.
- It seems like Kyle and Alyssa are having a big impact on the game. Alyssa told Kyle about the girls’ alliance and Daniel thought he could count on Kyle to vote out Taylor – two moves leading to unexpected evictions. Kyle got a little lucky that Daniel wanted to use the veto but, with Kyle and Alyssa growing closer, it is going to become that much more important that they manage their perception as a duo.
- Taylor set herself up well when she picked to be besties with Indy and Alyssa, as she will still have access to all of The Leftovers’ votes if she is nominated for eviction.
